Abby Dowell is a Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate, supervised by Kelsey D'Amore, MS, LPC-S, Registered Play Therapist.

After working through her own therapeutic journey, Abby left corporate America to pursue a career as a counselor.  After completing her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, she worked for a Children's Advocacy Center, treating children, teens, and adults affected by abuse and trauma.  Her training includes trauma-informed, evidence-based practices and client-centered, strengths-based modalities.

Abby understands what it feels like to be stuck and hopes to help her clients achieve those "full circle" moments to gain a new footing.  It's hard to take that first step when seeking therapy, and Abby aims to create a warm and nurturing welcome to the life-changing power of the therapeutic relationship. She hopes to foster hope in a judgment-free environment where people feel unconditionally accepted and safe.  She believes people are the best narrator of their stories and challenges and seeks to meet people where they are while scaffolding the bridge to where they want to be.  Abby hopes to empower people to discover their innate abilities to induce change through collaboration and by providing fresh new perspectives to see the bigger picture.

When Abby isn't working, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and experiencing a nicely curated meal.  She finds solace in reading all the things, listening to all the podcasts (especially True Crime!), writing down metaphors to use in session, and watching all the documentaries.  Abby is passionate about self-care and hopes to help you find what fills your cup!
