Erin is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist that brings experience from the private, non-profit and school settings, working with children, teens and adults. Erin utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities such as talk therapy, play therapy, art therapy and sand tray. Erin graduated from Texas A&M University – Commerce with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Science in Counseling.

Erin has experience working with issues such as depression, anxiety, domestic violence, ADHD, life transitions, stress and grief. Erin practices a person-centered approach, as she facilitates a nonjudgmental, empathetic environment that leads to growth, healing and self-actualization.

Erin specializes in play therapy, as she strongly believes in the power of play. Children often struggle when trying to process their own emotions let alone verbalize how they are feeling to others. Following a child-centered play therapy approach, Erin provides a safe, nonjudgmental environment where children can express themselves freely while developing skills that will allow them to manage their own behavior and be successful in life.

Prior to Connect to Thrive, Erin worked as an elementary school counselor for seven years and as a special education teacher for five years. During her years in education, Erin worked closely with students, parents, teachers, administrators and other vital team members to ensure the well-being and success of each student. As the campus 504 coordinator, member of the SST team and ARD committee, Erin understands the educational protocols related to student growth and learning, the importance of working on a multidisciplinary team and how mental health impacts academic performance.

Erin is honored to serve the Collin County Community and is looking forward to meeting you.
