Katie enjoys working collaboratively with adults, teens, and children in the North Texas Area. She believes in the importance of genuineness and unconditional positive regard in building a safe space for clients. Katie believes every person, child or adult, is possible of healing and growth if they are allowed the time, space, and sense of safety to work through struggles. Katie meets each individual client where they’re at, recognizing that a diagnosis or label does not fully encompass all that a person is.

Katie is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), a treatment modality that utilizes resourcing and dual attention between past and present to help make connections between the hemispheres of the brain and decrease symptoms impacting daily life. Katie also has specialized training in play therapy and attachment work. She utilizes an attachment based lens to help children, teens, parents, and adults address symptoms of trauma or difficult life events. Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, allowing her the opportunity to guide associate-level counselors in the beginning stages of their clinical experience.

Katie’s passion for helping children and families grew during her time at Texas State University, where she studied family and child development and psychology. While earning a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of North Texas, Katie gained clinical experience working at a non-profit providing individual and group counseling to children, teens, and adults individuals impacted by family violence and sexual trauma. Katie also gained experience in a group private practice, providing individual and group counseling to clients of all ages struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and attachment-based concerns.

When Katie is not working, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. She loves attending sporting events, live music, watching movies, and reading, especially Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. Katie has three lovely pets, a sassy cat, Zoey, and two scrappy goldendoodles, Mosby and Leela.
