Shivani is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate under the supervision of Katie Dunham, MS, LPC-S, Registered Play Therapist. Shivani earned her Master of Science degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. She also is a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) and studied Music Therapy during her undergrad at Texas Woman's University. Her goal as a counselor is to provide a safe space for clients to explore their experiences. 

 

She strongly feels clients have the best understanding of themselves and should have the opportunity to explore their experiences and desires. She views her role as a non-judgmental observer and ear for you to better explore yourself while providing you the care you need to have an overall better positive regard in your life. Shivani draws from evidence-based techniques as well as music-based techniques to engage her clients in processing life events. 

 

Shivani enjoys working with clients across the lifespan with various needs, her special interest area includes the neurodivergent population. She has previous experience working with children and adults on the autism spectrum. Shivani is a South Asian American who has an interest in working with people in her community.

 

In her free time, you can find Shivani hopping on a flight and exploring different places. She also enjoys cooking food and hanging out with her friends and family. Shivani loves to sing and is hoping to join a local community choir soon!
