about kate
Welcome! I’m Kate, I work with children and teens to support them through the uniquely challenging early stages of life. I strongly believe in the therapeutic relationship and the positive impact of human connection, and when provided within the context of a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic space, I find that the most meaningful growth can occur. While collaboration with clients is essential to my process, I also value partnering closely with parents, as the most effective and lasting outcomes often emerge when everyone is aligned and working together as a supportive team.
I use developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed approaches including play therapy, santray, somatic techniques, and person-centered therapy to support self-expression, emotional regulation, and resilience building. Through curiosity and connection, I help my clients develop awareness of their feelings and bodies, while learning effective coping skills that address current needs and support, long-term emotional well-being.
I strive to bring the same curiosity and presence into my sessions as I do to my everyday life. Outside of the therapy world, my hobbies include trying new coffee, shops, walking in nature, mood boarding via Pinterest, indulging in reality TV, and visiting my family back in Iowa.Â
