about kelsey
Hello! I'm glad you're here. It's an honor to be a part of someone's growth process. I aim to provide a warm, authentic, non-judgmental environment in sessions, where you can feel safe to explore hard things. I believe the therapy journey is collaborative, and my job is to act as a passenger, offering various options and routes, while you act as the driver and decide which routes we take to get to the destination.
I work with clients of all ages, from as young as three through late adulthood. I use Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, auricular acupuncture, psycho-education, attachment-based interventions, animal-assisted therapy, and/or play therapy to decrease symptoms and improve life satisfaction. My hope is to provide education, connection, and understanding to empower you to take control of your life, reconnect to your body, and increase your distress tolerance in order to experience embodiment and joy. My co-therapists, Bowser and Noodle, are always a bright spot when sitting with distress and processing hard feelings. I am passionate about holistic methods for healing on a broader scale and offer auricular (ear) acupuncture to anyone who is looking for extra support with chronic stress, trauma, or anxiety outside of a normal counseling environment. I also enjoy providing supervision and consultation to therapists seeking to complete their associate hours or pursuing specializations in play therapy, working with teens, EMDR, and/or somatic work.
When I am not working, I enjoy traveling, working out, spending time outside, spending time with my fiancé and dogs, reading, and attending one of my many book clubs. As an ex-collegiate soccer athlete, I always make time to move and sweat each day (my current obsessions are pilates and tennis). I am passionate about Harry Potter, dogs, fiction books, and all things mental health!
I wrote and published a children's book in December of 2023 about my sweet therapy pup, Stabler, who died unexpectedly. I wanted to honor his memory by allowing him to continue his "work" of helping people, with the hope of providing a resource for parents and children to talk about grief and loss. Check it out on amazon!
